In Georgia, you can enter into a fully legal civil marriage using just your two international passports.

You won’t have to spend weeks visiting government offices. Simply travel to Georgia for your marriage registration, and I’ll take care of the entire legalization process for you.
  • Those who want to combine an important legal step with a relaxing getaway: If you’d like to escape Qatar for a couple of days, register your marriage in a relaxed and pleasant setting in Georgia, enjoy some time away, and return with your documents fully legalized for use in Qatar.

Full assistance with official marriage registration at the House of Justice and comprehensive consular legalisation of documents to ensure their full legal validity in Qatar

  1. How we get started

      • Preferred format: express marriage registration or a formal ceremony at the House of Justice (on a weekday or weekend).
      • Planned date.
      • Marital status: whether this is your first marriage or your passport contains any stamps or records of previous marriages.
      • Number of marriage certificates required and the language into which they need to be translated.
  2. Assistance and additional services. You can choose the official registration service on its own or add services to make your experience more comfortable and capture memorable moments.

    • Coordination and guidance. One day before you submit your documents, I’ll send you a detailed step-by-step plan and clear instructions so you know what to expect and feel confident throughout the process.
  4. Marriage certificate issuance and legalisation for Qatar. Your marriage certificate is issued on the day of registration. I then collect the document and handle the consular legalisation process to ensure it can be officially recognised in Qatar. Legalization of marriage for Qatar

Couples from Qatar – both Qatari citizens and expats living in Doha – are among my most frequent clients. Due to strict local legislation and complex bureaucratic procedures, getting married quickly in Qatar can be extremely difficult. That is why many couples choose Georgia, where they can officially register their marriage in just 1–2 days, while the marriage certificate can be given full legal effect in Qatar after the proper legalization process. I am Wedding planner Elina, and I know every detail of registering a marriage in Georgia and subsequently completing the consular legalization required for Qatar. I take care of the entire process – from the initial consultation and submitting your application at the Tbilisi House of Justice to obtaining the final stamps – so your marriage certificate can be properly recognized in your country of residence without unnecessary complications.

Getting married in Georgia for Qatari citizens

Getting married in Georgia is one of the simplest and fastest ways for Qatari citizens and residents to obtain an officially recognized marital status. The main advantage of Georgian law is its openness to foreigners: there are no requirements regarding religion, long-term residence, or approval from the authorities of your home country.

Why couples from Qatar choose to register their marriage in Georgia

  1. No medical tests or certificates: Unlike Qatar, Georgia does not require couples to undergo mandatory blood tests or obtain government approval to get married.
  2. No religious or denominational restrictions: A civil marriage at the House of Justice can be registered regardless of your religion, nationality, or citizenship.
  3. Minimal processing time: The official registration process takes less than 24 hours. Your application and document translations can be prepared remotely before you even leave Doha.
  4. Minimal documentation: To start the process, you only need your passports and, if applicable, a divorce certificate or the death certificate of a previous spouse.
  5. Full legal validity: Once the consular legalization process has been completed, your Georgian marriage certificate can have full legal effect in Qatar – for family visa applications, joint property rental, medical insurance, and other legal matters.

As your personal wedding planner, I take care of document checks, communication with the relevant government authorities, and the entire legalization process. You come to Tbilisi not to spend your time dealing with endless queues and bureaucratic procedures, but to enjoy a simple and joyful occasion while receiving a fully prepared document that is legally valid for use in Qatar.

Required documents for marriage registration

To register your marriage in Georgia and subsequently complete the consular legalization of your marriage certificate for use in Qatar, you only need a minimal set of documents:

  • Valid passports of both the bride and groom – valid for at least 6 months at the time of application.
  • Document confirming the termination of a previous marriage, if applicable – a divorce certificate or the death certificate of a spouse, with an apostille or legalization from the country where the document was issued.

What I take care of

  • I translate your documents into Georgian.
  • I arrange notarization of the translations.
  • I assist with submitting your application at the Tbilisi House of Justice.

You only need to send me clear scans of your documents 5–7 days before your arrival and bring the original passports with you to the ceremony.

Marriage registration in Tbilisi for couples from Qatar

For foreigners to register their marriage in Tbilisi, there are four simple steps:

  1. Submit the documents at the House of Justice:
  • Passports of both partners, along with notarized Georgian translations.
  • Marriage registration application.
  • Divorce certificate or death certificate of a previous spouse, with an apostille and translation, if either partner was previously married.
  • Two witnesses, with their passports and Georgian translations.
  1. Document review:
  • Standard processing takes 1 business day.
  • Expedited processing is also available on the day of submission.
  1. Marriage registration:
  • The marriage is registered at the House of Justice without a formal ceremony.
  • An official marriage record is issued, followed by the Georgian marriage certificate.

I will accompany you throughout the entire process – helping with translations, arranging witnesses if needed, assisting with the application, and then taking care of preparing your marriage certificate for legalization in Qatar.

Can we have a marriage ceremony?

Yes, in Georgia, you can register your marriage with a ceremony. On weekdays, this service costs an additional $65, and if you would like to have a wedding ceremony on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday), it is an additional $120. If you are coming to Tbilisi for just a couple of days or a weekend, I book the required time slot in advance and coordinate all the details so that your ceremony goes ahead smoothly, without unnecessary delays or wasted time.

If you would like to make the day feel even more special, I can also arrange beautiful details such as a wedding photoshoot, professional hair and makeup, a delicate bridal bouquet, and a boutonniere for the groom.

Consular legalization of a Georgian marriage certificate for Qatar

Since Qatar is not a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, a standard apostille is not sufficient for documents intended for use there. For your Georgian marriage certificate to have full legal effect in Doha and be recognized by Qatari government authorities, it must go through the consular legalization process.

What does consular legalization include?

  1. Translation of the marriage certificate into Arabic or English, followed by notarization.
  2. Certification by the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.
  3. Authentication by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
  4. Final legalization at the Embassy of Qatar.

You do not need to stay in Georgia throughout the entire process. Consular legalization usually takes 8–10 business days. After the official ceremony and marriage registration, you can return home without waiting for the paperwork to be completed.

I personally handle the entire process with the relevant government authorities and diplomatic institutions, then arrange for the fully legalized document to be sent to you in Qatar by a reliable courier service.
